The Citizen website has been made by Understanding Slavery. It is a group of five museums: the National Maritime Museum (London), the British Empire and Commonwealth Museum (Bristol), National Museums Liverpool, Bristol City’s Museums, Galleries and Archives, and Hull Museums and Art Gallery. They develop projects using the objects in their museums to teach young people about the history of slavery and how it has affected society today.
